Location & Arrival
Heilbronn at the Neckar river is located at the foot of Löwenstein mountains. The wine and industrial town of Heilbronn is also nicknamed „Käthchenstadt“ according to the play „Käthchen von Heilbronn“ („Katie of Heilbronn“) by Heinrich von Kleist. The Youth Hostel is located in the center of the city on the grounds of the city’s exhibition Neckarbogen, a part of the Bundesgartenschau 2019 area.
Currently the Youth Hostel is only accessible via Europaplatz from the northeast.
Arriving by public transport
Arriving by train
Due to roardworks you can reach the Youth Hostel by a devious route of 1,7 km. Coming from the station walk along the Bahnhofstraße in eastern direction an cross the Neckar river. Then turn left into the „Untere Neckarstraße“. Follow this road until you reach Mannheimer Straße and turn left again into direction „Europaplatz“. There you take „Kranenstraße“, cross the Neckar river again and you will see the Youth Hostel in front of you.
When the Bundesgartenschau will open in April 2019 you can simply reach the BUGA entry „Innenstadt“ within a few minutes (about 800 m) by foot.
Arriving by „Stadtbahn“
You can take the „Stadtbahn“ S42 till stop „Heilbronn Theater“. From there follow Mannheimer Straße in western direction till „Europaplatz“ and turn into „Kranenstraße“ there. You will find the Youth Hostel after crossing the Neckar river.
When the Bundesgartenschau will take place, you can get off train at stop „Neckar-Turm“ right next to the entry „Innenstadt“.
Rail service for DJH members
The Community Travel GmbH offers DJH members discounted RIT tickets for a return journey within Germany - this applies only in conjunction with stays in a hostel. School classes and groups can make use of this offer. You must carry confirmation of your booking with you when travelling.

Arriving by car/bus
Please note, that our address „Paula-Fuchs-Allee“ will come into life with the Bundesgartenschau 2019. Right now you can’t find this road via Google Maps or in your navigation system. Just take „Europaplatz“ as alternate destination address.
Coming from direction Stuttgart/Würzburg
Take the Autobahn A81. At "Weinsberger Kreuz" change to the A6 into direction "Heidelberg/Mannheim“ and take exit 37 "Heilbronn/Neckarsulm". From there drive to „Europaplatz“. From April to October 2019 just follow the signs to "Bundesgartenschau".
Coming from direction Heidelberg/Mannheim
Take the Autobahn A6 and leave at exit 36 "Heilbronn/Untereisesheim". From there drive to „Europaplatz“. From April to October 2018 just follow the signs to the "Bundesgartenschau“.
Coming from direction Nürnberg
Take the Autobahn A6 and leave at exit 37 "Heilbronn/Neckarsulm". From there drive to „Europaplatz“. From April to October 2019 just follow the signs to the "Bundesgartenschau".
Low emission zone Heilbronn
From January 1st in 2013, a (green) EURO 4 Sticker is needed to get access to all existing low emission zones in Baden-Wuerttemberg. To avoid problems, please get your sticker before travelling to our Youth Hostel.
Parking slots and shuttle traffic
The Youth Hostel is not directly reachable by car. Next to the „Europaplatz“ there are several car parks like „Am Bollwerksturm APCOA“.
From April to October 2019 there is a parking area next to entry "Wohlergehen". From there you can take a shuttle busto the entry "Innenstadt", about 400 m from the Youth Hostel.
Alternatively you can take the City Parkhaus Experimenta APCOA next to the entry "Innenstadt".
